My Counseling Practice
Our lives become a mess at times. That is normal. However, when the problems grow, remain unresolved, or are compounded by new and sometimes unexpected events, we often experience stress, anxiety, depression, and sometimes harmful behaviours. The good news is that many of these problems resolve themselves over time, and for the ones that do not, some simple therapeutic techniques can help.
At 50+ years old, I have experienced many of life’s challenges. I have counseled youth, families, and adults in a variety of settings, with a wide spectrum of concerns, and I have remained hopeful, seeing the strength in each person that can be brought to the surface, to engage and enjoy the world with meaning. I have witnessed people make real change in their lives and be happier and more fulfilled.
My Counseling Focus
My focus is on you, and will always remain so. Initially we will work to quickly resolve some of the more troubling aspects of your daily life and provide some immediate relief. Next, we will focus on the underlying issues and discover a way to understand and alleviate problems in the future. I have always been non judgmental and LGBTQ friendly. I also have many years of training and experience with substance related issues.
I will carefully listen to everything you share with me. I will spend time exploring what approach is best for you and I will support you along the way. You are unique, you are special, and you are important. I want to hear your story and support you in your journey to happiness and fulfilment.

Great counseling relationships start with willing participants, both client and therapist, and end with a satisfied and capable client moving forward with their life in a productive and meaningful way.
